Donna- Summer 10

Donna comes to The Garden State Jubilee directly from a successful career on skid row. Having met writer Ann Piccirillo while sharing an empty Maytag Washer box as a blanket on the lower east side (of Paterson) she decided that she could do better, much better than sharing a cardboard box with an itinerate spray-painting Haiku writer. So, packing her 30 gallon Hefty bag with empty cans, Donna cashed in the cans 5 cent deposit and purchased a NJ Transit ticket to Rutgers University, where she surreptitiously attended film-making and photography classes and mastered the art of focusing, shop lifting film, and pressing a button that made a noise. Upon taking part in the Eastside riots of 1992, Donna looted a camera shop where she took her Minolta and tripod and made her way to North Jersey where she offered her services to Tom Meyers. Seeing the camera in her hand, Tom jumped at her offer to be the resident photographer/videographer of the show. Donna, surprised that he mistook her offer for her professional services to really mean her professional services as a photographer, she remains forever indebted to Tom and Nelson for believing in a little girl with a big dream. When asked to talk about her role as a member of The Garden State Jubilee, Donna says, "The luckiest day of my life was when I began working with these amazingly talented people! They never cease to amaze me!" Off the record she is quoted as saying, "Call immigration--they are making me work without pay--I am a slave to this ridiculous thing they call a show. I haven't eaten for weeks! HELP ME!!!!"
